Following A Solemn Man (feat Aisha Khan) and The Day After (feat Naomi in Blue), El Gordo sees Hans Deville’s gigging sparring partner El Volte picking up the mic with label mates X RAY CAT TRIO’s El Nico bringing his trade mark extra twang to the party anthem and Tex Mex philosophy lesson.
El Gordo is a Mariachi, Surf Rock+Roll manifesto of sorts. With the protaginist imparting lessons learned from his many years on earth. Or is it the potential jingle to Mexico’s national lottery “El Gordo” The Big One?
Muscically it could be The Darkness’ Justin Hawkins channeling the power of an oversized sombrero. Co written with Frank From Blue Velvet’s Andrew J. Davies, the lyrics are full of dark humour.

Hans Deville started as a lock down recording project in his stained glass work shop in North London. But it soon turned into a full blown touring band featuring a rag tag posse of Hastings musicians Mark J Lee & Andrew Francis (The Longshore Drifters), former Peter & The Test Tube Babies stick man and Frank From Blue Velvet co-founder Mark Stor-Hoggins, plus newest recruit El Volte taking on vocal duties.
His debut album, “Prophecies of the Lost” was released May 2021.
