“It’s a long, hard look in the mirror, striking a chord with anyone who’s ever chosen flight over fight.” - Andrew J. Davies - Singer/Guitar
The East Sussex band take a side step to their punk-country debut with their second album “I Am Frank.”
“Running Man” is a final fore-taster to the album’s release mid May. A blend of twang with the raw synth of Sheffield’s industrial post-punk scene. It answers the question you never knew you needed to ask.. “What if Lee Hazlewood jammed with Cabaret Voltaire?” It’s heavy in both instrumentation and intent.
Following previous singles “The Lullaby”. “Falling” “I Know You’re Damaged” and “Empty” you will find the new direction is expansive and atmospheric. Dark yet anthemic. Late night journeys into a tormented soul, full of questioning and the odd ray of sunshine flickering through.
The band core-trio are fronted by Father / Daughter (guitar / bass) Andrew J. Davies and Ruby Lyons. A relationship with it’s difficulties through a marital break-up, the band being part of a healing process between the two. Former Peter & the Test Tube Babies member, Og’s, provides the pounding rhythm back drop to this gothic ballad.
