HANS DEVILLE teams up with Chilean alt-shoe gaze vocalist Naomi In Blue for the ultimate imaginary Western soundtrack. Released through Property of the Lost on 8th November 2024.

“The Day After” was originally an instrumental composition written for a proposed French Western. As hope began to fade on the production, Hans Deville asked Chilean/English psych-shoe-gaze singer, Naomi in Blue, if she would create some lyrics and lay down some vocals on the score. The pair had originally been introduced through alt-country DJ, Sunday Girl.

The resulting track is an emotional, dare we say poetic, journey into love and seperation. A whispered monologue, part English part Chilean Spanish which only adds to the passion, weaves between the cinematic score of Spaghetti Western twang, choirs, clip clops and sweeping orchestration.

This is the second of a series of precursory taster releases to the new album due out Spring’25.

Hans Deville is the guitarist for ska-punk god fathers King Prawn, but this is no insular “studio project” Hans Deville is also a touring live band featuring members of Peter & The Test Tube Babies, Frank From Blue Velvet, Motorcycle Display Team and the Longshore Drifters.

They play The Jenny Lind on Sunday 10th November as part of a two label Hastings weekend extravaganza between Property of the Lost & Grow Your Own Records.

If you are hearing Naomi In Blue for the first time, you will know, immediately, it won’t be the last time. The video was shot upstairs at the Betsey Trotwood venue. We originally met Naomi to shoot some content for social media, but when looking at the footage, this one particular take blew us away. Distant understated echoes of Blue Velvet’s Isabella Rossellini.

“Do you look at the same moon as mine

Does it also shine a kind of pink tonight

Can you feel that same breeze that makes these hills sing

Listen closely maybe you'll hear”
