NEW FRANK FROM BLUE VELVET SINGLE RELEASED 29th NOVEMBER

A year after its original release. The debut Frank From Blue Velvet album is getting a vinyl outing to coincide with a German Winter tour.

To give it a birthday bump the band sent “The Devil Took My Girl” to their "field recorder" friend Vellum Hill. The original sparse composition was layered with sub bass organs and high winds filtered through radio static.

With a chain gang song backbone the tune strides its shackled legs past the post-punk electronica world of Throbbing Gristle and Cabaret Voltaire. The Devil Took My Girl is a double sided mirror reflecting the past alt-Americana sound of the first album to the heavy darkness of what’s in store…

The video (not yet released for public viewing) was shot along the fishing boat beach on the morning of the our label weekender in Hastings. The storms had arrived which formed a perfect backdrop for the songs story line…

“This is the tale of a woman who’s had to battle her way through this nine-round contest of a world” explains vocalist and lyricist Andrew J. Davies, “And just when things are at their darkest she decides to take on her demons and make them bow before her.”

If you know Frank From Blue Velvet you will know they take every aspect of their creation seriously. Their videos shine and this is no exception. It has something of the Uncanny about it.. the macabre faces of tortured souls flicker across the face of Andrew J Davies.. It’s proper theater, and may leave you with a slight sense of unease.

The Hastings alt-country provocateurs take their redemptive twang to TOUGH LOVE store in St Leonards, East Sussex on Saturday 2nd December

.. Then the unholy alliance of FRANK FROM BLUE VELVET and PETER & THE TEST TUBE BABIES hit the road for a winter tour of Germany.

The debut album is now available on limited edition (300) pink and blue splatter vinyl.

10 lathe cut “The Devil Took My Girl” 7”s will be available for ONE DAY ONLY at the Tough Love in-store Saturday 2nd December.
