“It’s a full on in your chops 10 track stomper of an album which has its running gears in punk rock with rockabilly, country and blues manifestations, emblazoned with anything that makes it bounce even better, This is once again a genre mangling exercise of the highest order, rock n roll is not just alive and kicking but absolutely bouncing out of its skin. This is one of the best contemporary albums I have had the pleasure or reviewing in a long time.”

OMG, Lucky you. A real upfront listen to the “Haunted” album by X-RAY CAT TRIO. Released November 17th.

X Ray Cat Trio have been dropping their own unique blend of surf, rockabilly + punk rock since 2009, when guitarist El Nico teamed up with bass player Adam Richards to form the root of this gritty and trashy garage band.

The band are grafters and pulled in many tours through the UK and Europe supporting the likes of The Meteors, Jim Jones & The Righteous Mind, The Legendary Shack Shakers, Dan Sartain, Delta Bombers, Bob Log III, Daddy Long Legs also playing Rebellion, Boomtown and Bedlam Breakout festivals. The band have two albums under their belt; Out For Blood (2015) and Love, Blood & Monsters (2020) both selling out of the vinyl pressing. Last year they teamed up with singer Harriet Hyde to record a 7” Ep of 50’s inspired mutant doo-wop.

Wearing their influences on their sleeves, it’s clear they draw faithfully from the authentic stylings of Billy Childish, Dan Sartain, nasty 50’s rockabilly, gritty 60’s garage and trashy 70’s punk rock. They are a no-messin’ rock and roll band.
