Unlike many bands that mix up many musical genres, King Prawn wrote songs that continue to attract new fans today. Formed in the early ‘90’s, their debut 7” Poison In The Air was a statement of intent, mixing ska, rock and even Arabic chanting. Their live shows were a glorious mix of chaos and extreme tightness. In 2003 the band left the stage at a packed-out Forum in London, thinking they would never tread the boards again. However, a persistent Boomtown Festival bookers’ annual call to pull the band out of dormancy eventually paid off. The phone was answered in 2013 with a triumphant headline show on the festivals’ Devil Kicks stage. The band now regularly “answer the phone” to promoters around the world.
